Now a cartoon Ambassador....

Cartoon ambassador....doesn't it sounds like a funny joke. But friends, this is not at all a joke, Japan has recently created an unusual government post for promoting animation. So, after brand ambassadors, goodwill ambassadors, tourism ambassadors, etc., now the trend of cartoon ambassadors has started by Japan. The govt. has named a perfect figure to the position: a popular cartoon robot cat named Doraemon. Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura appointed the cat an ''anime ambassador,'' handing a human-sized Doraemon doll an official certificate at an inauguration ceremony, along with dozens of ''dorayaki'' red bean pancakes — his favorite dessert — piled on a huge plate.

Wow, I didn't know about this. Doraemon is a Japanese national treasure so it makes sense. But I kind of prefer Totoro myself. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog.
